USGA Pace System
Features Of The USGA Pace Rating System
When your course is Pace Rated, it receives:
A Pace Rating for the course. Pace Rating tells golfers how long it should take to play 18 holes when your course is playing at capacity.
A time par for each hole. A time par tells players how long it should take to play a given hole on your course. Time pars may range from approximately eight minutes to approximately 25 minutes, depending on the length and difficulty of the hole, and other factors. The sum of the time pars on your course equals its Pace Rating. A group which achieves individual time pars will complete the round in the Pace Rating for the course.
Pace Rating tee times. Time pars easily translate into starting times for each tee! For example, a group starts at 8:00 on the first tee, which has a time par of 12 minutes. The Pace Rating tee time for the second tee is 8:12.
The Pace Rating, time pars, and Pace Rating tee times can be printed on the score card or otherwise communicated to golfers at the start of the round. They can also appear on a tracking grid made available to the course marshal/ranger, so that he or she can know when a group is due at each tee. See examples on pages 30-32.
Together, Pace Rating and time pars alert golfers to the expectations at your course for completing each hole and the full round at an optimum pace.

Its Features
THE USGA PACE RATING SYSTEM
USGA Pace Rating:
The recommended completion time for 18 holes on your course.
Time Par:
The recommended completion time for each hole on your course.
Pace Rating Tee Time:
The starting time for a hole. It is arrived at by adding time par of the previous hole to the starting time of the previous hole. Example: Hole 1 has a starting time of 8:00 and a time par of 12 minutes. Hole 2, therefore, has a Pace Rating tee time of 8:12.
